How Tenstreet Assistant Improves Your Hire Rate and Other AI Strategies for Carriers

Since we first introduced Tenstreet Assistant to our clients attending UConnect26 in early May, we’ve had several months to observe how carriers are using our customizable AI for trucking to handle everyday tasks that slow down recruiting, processing, and safety roles.

The data we’ve collected tells a story of how AI efficiency can result in measurably better business outcomes like more hires. We’ve also tracked the biggest missed opportunities where carriers are leaving clarity, time, and money on the table. Read on to learn the most effective strategies for using Tenstreet Assistant.

Recruiting: 50% More Hires – and Growing

For recruiters using Tenstreet Assistant to hire drivers, the results after just 5 months of data are in: using Tenstreet Assistant to handle basic recruiting tasks can significantly improve your hiring rates.

The rate increases based on the level of involvement the recruiter has with Tenstreet Assistant – recruiters with a low usage of the tool hire at just over 2% on average, while heavy users of the tool see their hiring rate more than double to 4.5%. Moderate users see a more modest boost at 2.3%.

The reason for this boost in recruiting success for frequent users of Tenstreet Assistant’s automations is clearly supported by a trend we’ve seen for years: days matter to hiring rates.

A carrier is more likely to hire a driver if they can formalize that hire quickly. Carriers with a hiring cycle that’s 5 days or fewer see hiring rates of more than 12% compared to carriers with a 10-15 day hiring cycle, whose hire rate is lower than 4%. Even though 10-15 days is the industry average, that doesn’t mean drivers like it – the carrier most able to get a driver onboard and prepared to start driving quickly will be the one who makes the hire.

Tenstreet Assistant makes a difference here by speeding up every recruiting and processing step, cutting days to hire. Without Tenstreet Assistant, hiring a new drivers looks like manually following up every lead with custom messaging, calling drivers to gather info they didn’t supply in their application, remembering to run workflows when statuses change, and keeping in contact with drivers to ensure they show up to orientation.

With Tenstreet Assistant, recruiters can complete these steps with a single click: follow up with leads, send custom messaging in response to driver questions, have VoiceBCots collect missing information and remind drivers about orientation dates, and so much more. The tool can shave minutes to hours off every step and every candidate, leading to faster offers and more drivers to fill your trucks.

The Power of Departmental Buy-In

A 50% higher hire rate is already a huge boon for a single recruiter, but the results are even more effective if entire departments become high users of Tenstreet Assistant. Companies that are heavy users of Tenstreet Assistant see a 5% hire rate compared to companies with low engagement, which hire just over 2% of drivers.

Interestingly, companies with moderate usage of Tenstreet Assistant hire slightly less effectively than those with low usage. The reason underscores why high users see so much success: consistency in processing is the factor that helps recruiting departments improve beyond the efficiency gains of individual employees. If an entire department is using Tenstreet Assistant, they’re seeing additional benefits in the form of a repeatable, predictable process that moves routine hires quickly and gives more bandwidth to recruiters for handling unusual cases or resolving issues faster. Recruiting departments having a shared belief in their processes makes everyone more unified and effective. We’ve even heard from clients training new recruiters on Tenstreet Assistant that find their new recruiters are just as effective – if not more effective – than more experienced recruiters who aren’t using Tenstreet Assistant.

Get Started With Our Most Popular Triggers

If you’re ready to see greater efficiency with Tenstreet Assistant but aren’t sure where to get started, a great place to begin is with some of our most popular triggers. Carriers have loved these automations and quickly seen the effects on their business – here’s four to get started.

Lead App Received – When you receive a lead application, Tenstreet Assistant will notify you and recommend that you take the next step based on your pre-defined process, such as adding a note, changing the status, and having an auto responder message sent.
The Result: Working leads immediately engages those drivers and keeps them interested in you.

Status Changed – When a subject’s status changes, this trigger can be customized to launch actions that guide users through the next steps in your workflow.
The Result: Candidates aren’t kept waiting in a new status, moving them more quickly through your hiring workflow.

VoiceBot – Have your bot call applicants and hires about everything from incomplete application info to orientation date reminders, ensuring drivers finish their tasks and stay informed.
The Result: Recruiting personnel spend less time on rote reminders and data collection tasks, while these requirements are handled in a consistent, systematic way.

Tenstreet PSP Received – When a PSP report is returned, Tenstreet Assistant will identify any accident, violation, or employment history discrepancies that don’t align with the information the driver provided on their IntelliApp. You’ll then have the option to review the prefilled subject update forms and edit, then save the changes.
The Result: Processing staff can identify and address inconsistencies faster, keeping candidates from stalling.

Our Biggest Growth Triggers

Want to start using some up-and-coming triggers that your competition may not be using yet? These are some of the biggest opportunities currently waiting in Tenstreet Assistant.

CDLIS Received – When a CDLIS report is returned, identify any license discrepancies that don’t align with the information on the IntelliApp. Then take additional actions such as saving the new information and ordering additional reports.
The Result: Flag potential issues right away to keep applicants moving.

DQF Document Review – When you receive a driver document like a CDL, Tenstreet Assistant will review the document and identify any discrepancies in the submitted item. Then take another action like requesting an updated document from the driver.
The Result: Safety personnel can prioritize documents with issues, keeping files up to date and compliant.

Recommended Training – Tenstreet Assistant will review the CSA Infractions and Telematics events recorded in your dashboard and then suggest any additional training to be sent to a driver.
The Result: Stay on top of training and demonstrate your commitment to safety.
